Wed saw P J Curtin, Paddy Dennehy and Noel McCarthy beaten by a third of a shot for the Nett by Frank Riordan, Sheila O’Leary and Mary O’Donovan but their 9 under secured the gross keeping P J on his unbeaten run of 9. Sat saw him back with 10 in a row with Frank Riordan for the Gross while Paddy Dennehy took the Nett with Noel McCarthy. Sunday Morning Dan Shine and Bart Millard took the Nett on the back nine while Mary O’Donovan won the Gross with Billy Fitton putting an end to P J ‘s run and setting a target that will be hard to equal. Sunday Afternoon P J was back in the winners enclosure with Paddy Dennehy with 10 under to nett an excellent 35.5 while John Dineen took the gross with Pat Moore on the back 12 with 6 under from Pat O’Keeffe who was also anchored by John Dineen. The Ladies were very unfortunate with the Weather on Saturday for their outing but investing in some Vino and Nibbles Pat Conway organised a putting competition that went down a treat and worked up a good appetite for the meal in the Kilumney Inn on Saturday Night. The Craic was mighty and some fun and games were had searching for Gretchen’s Mobile Phone. Best of Luck to the organisers of the Peter Healy Competition in Collins on Sunday next and best wishes to Lakewoods Two Teams. Peter was a former Member in the Ranges and held the role of Competition Secretary for the County Board for a number of years and this competition is run annually in his memory.
